The illustrious Art Laboe entertained music lovers for decades with his outstanding radio format. The “oldies but goodies” pioneer gave fans a thrilling show featuring some of the most celebrated names in contemporary rock, R&B, soul, and more. This 2024, the Art Laboe Connection celebrates the man’s impressive legacy by bringing in a specially curated line-up of amazing performers. This spring, the Glen Helen Amphitheater will host this highly-anticipated spectacle. See the fantastic live performances of R&B sensational Zapp, Rose Royce, Amanda Perez, Paula Deanda, and Peaches and Herb.

American funk sensations Zapp took over the airwaves during the ‘80s and belted out iconic hits, such as “Dance Floor,” “Heartbreaker,” “I Can Make You Dance,” and “More Bounce to the Ounce.” Meanwhile, soul and R&B group Rose Royce conquered the ‘70s with incredible smashing hits, such as “Car Wash,” “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,” and “Wishing on a Star.” R&B and soul sensation Paul DeAnda will also be here to deliver her hits. The “Walk Way (Remember Me)” singer rose to prominence in 2006 upon releasing her self-titled debut album. She would later follow the highly acclaimed work with a couple of notable EPs. The esteemed vocal duo Peaches & Herb continues to demonstrate their incredible longevity as they take over the Glen Helen Amphitheater with their hits. Expect the disco funk purveyors to deliver beloved staples, such as “Shake Your Groove Thing” and “Reunited.”

Old-school hip-hop will make its phenomenal return in the form of A Lighter Shade of Brown. The duo from Riverside, California, is responsible for the fantastic hits like “On a Sunday Afternoon,” “Hey DJ,” and “Homies.” Lastly, world music will also take precedence on this highly awaited show as Latin pop duo Rene y Rene delivers their regional Mexican staples. The Tejano Music Hall of Famers has a career that spans several decades, and they are still here, serving their beloved hits to fans all over the world!
