Through his “Original Sound Records” company, pioneering American disc jockey and Hollywood Walk of Famer Art Laboe compiled hit songs from several artists from more than one label to feature in a record album titled “Oldies But Goodies” – a term which he popularized. He rose to prominence in the 50’s when he became the top radio star working on stations such as KPOP and KRLA. Up until now, Art is still as excellent as before with his “Killer Oldies” show which airs every Sunday night in cities across the West Coast. He can also be heard on the constantly rated no.1 show on HOT 92.3 playing Oldies But Goodies and your Dedications six nights a week. In 2009, he was given a Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters’ “Diamond Circle Award” for making an important contribution in broadcasting. He received the LA Radio Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 for the inspiration that his great radio career has given in Los Angeles listeners.
