Having sold over 85 million records worldwide, played almost 2000 live shows and scored myriads of awards, Iron Maiden is undoubtedly one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history. Their current line-up is consists of Steve Harris (songwriter and bassist), Dave Murray (guitarist), Adrian Smith (guitarist), Bruce Dickinson (lead vocalist), Nicko McBrain (drummer) and Janick Gers (guitarist) and of course their famous mascot Eddie the Head. Some of the awards they have won are the 2002 Ivor Novello International Achievement Awards, 2009 Brit Awards for Best British Live Act, 2011 Bandit Rock Awards for Best International Live Act and 2011 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in their song “El Dorado” from the album “The Final Frontier. Their 14th studio album “A Matter of Life and Death” was released in 2006 and peaked at no. 9 on the Billboard 200. It was awarded “Album of the Year” at Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards. Some of their most famous classics are “The Number of the Beast”, “Fear of the Dark”, “The Trooper” and “Dance of Death”.
Pioneer of American thrash metal, one of the “Big four of Thrash” Megadeth emerged into the scene in the 1980’s. The band has since released 14 studio albums including the six consecutive platinum or multi-platinum “Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?” (1986), “So Far, So Good…So What!” (1988), “Rust in Peace” (1990), “Countdown to Extinction” (1992), “Youthanasia” (1994) and “Cryptic Writings” (1997). Members Dave Mustaine, Dave Ellefson, Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick can be considered as among the fine wines who only keeps getting better with time.
